Since 1999 The Environment Agency have taken over 400 prosecutions against unregistered companies under these Regulations.
Some of the most recent prosecutions include
Gioma and
Nestlé-owned Osem UK, who were both fined in the region of £25,000 for their failure to comply.
The current record fine is held by
Red Bull, who were found to be in breach of the Regulations in July 2009 and charged £270,000 in fines, court costs and compensation.
