Becoming Compliant
To become compliant companies must register their data with the Environment Agency, usually via a Compliance Scheme like Kite Environmental Solutions.

Common Terminology
- Obligated Packaging Packaging around Raw
Materials, Components and Finished Goods that your business performs an 'obligated
activity' on.
- Compliance Scheme Compliance Schemes are government approved organisations who take on the legal obligations of companies and help them to comply with the Packaging Regulations.
- Data Submission Form The Data Submission
Form sets out the packaging and administrative details required by the Environment
Agency to register obligated companies. It must be filled out and submitted to them
annually.
- PRNsPRNs, Packaging Recovery Notes, are a form of voucher signifying that the necessary recovery or recycling of packaging waste has occurred. They are the only form of evidence accepted by the Environment Agency, and must be purchased to offset the obligation picked up by producers.
